Thewaysofdrinkingalcoholsasacultureofdietshadbeendevelopedintoasetofetiquettethatallshouldfollow.Sometimestheseruleswereverycomplexandtroublesome.Butonsomeimportantoccasions,violationoftheseruleswerethoughtofasthesymbolofrebellionagainstthepresentrulers.Somepeoplewerelikelytoover-drink,whichresultedintheirlossofself-controlandmakingchaos,forthisreason,itismuchnecessarytomaketheetiquetteofdrinkingalcohols.YuanHong-DaoofMingDynastywhosawsomedrunkardsnotfollowetiquetteofdrinkingalcoholsfeltthattheeldergenerationshouldberesponsibleforit,thenheabstractedagreatdealfromtheancientbooksabouttherulesthatdrinkersshouldfollowandwroteabook《RegulationsofDrinkingAlcoholicBeverages》speciallyfocusingonhowtobehavewhiledrinking.Althoughitwaswrittenparticularlyforthosewhoplayedfinger-guessinggameswhiledrinking,itwasalsosignificanttocommondrinkers.InancientChinathereexistedthefollowingetiquetteofdrinkingbeverages:
